Pantukoy Worksheets (Part 1)

The six pdf worksheets below are about the Filipino articles (mga pantukoy) ang, ang mga, si, sina, ni, and nina. These articles are used to indicate proper nouns (pangngalang pantangi) or common nouns (pangngalang pambalana).

The articles ang and ang mga are usually used to indicate common nouns. The article ang is used for singular nouns and ang mga is used for plural nouns.

Ang aso ni Greg ay mabilis tumakbo. (singular)

Ang mga aso ni Greg ay malulusog. (plural)

The article ang is sometimes used to indicate proper nouns for things, places, or events.

Ang Sierra Madre ay isang bulubundukin sa Luzon.

Ang Pista ng Peñafrancia ay gaganapin sa Setyembre.

The articles si and sina are used to indicate proper nouns for people, animals, or characters. The article si is used for one person/animal/character, while sina is used for more than one person/animal/character.

Si Ferdinand Magellan ay isang Portuges na manlalakbay.

Sina Ferdinand Magellan at Antonio de Pigafetta ay tumungo sa silangang-Asya.

Si Princess Bubblegum ay kaibigan ni Finn.

Sina Finn at Jake ay nakatira sa Land of Ooo.

The articles ni and nina are used are used before proper nouns for people, animals, or characters. They indicate ownership by one or more persons/animals/characters. They are also used to indicate the person/animal/character or persons/animals/characters doing the action in the sentence. The article ni is used for one person/animal/character, while nina is used for more than one person/animal/character.

Tiniklop ni Ate Josie ang mga damit ni Gemma. (The first ni indicates that Ate Josie performed the action tiniklop (folded). The second ni indicates ownership of the clothes (mga damit) by Gemma.)

Ang damit ni Gemma ay inihanda ko na. (indicates ownership by one person)

Ang mga damit nina Gemma at Greg ay nakahanda na. (indicates ownership by more than one person)

Inayos ni Mang Don ang pulang kotse. (indicates the doer of the action)

Inayos nina Mang Don at Danny ang pulang kotse. (indicates the doers of the action)

The other Filipino articles are mga, kay, kina, ng, and ng mga. These articles are not included in the worksheets posted here. The articles mentioned above are taught to second graders. Only the articles ang, ang mga, si, and sina are taught to first graders.

Pagkilala sa mga Pantukoy_1 ; Mga sagot sa Pagkilala sa mga Pantukoy_1 : This 20-item worksheet asks the student to underline all the Filipino articles in each sentence.

Pagpili ng Tamang Pantukoy_1 ; Mga sagot sa Pagpili ng Tamang Pantukoy_1 : This 15-item worksheet asks the student to underline the correct Filipino article that will complete the sentence. Three choices are given.

Pagsulat ng Tamang Pantukoy_1 ; Mga sagot sa Pagsulat ng Tamang Pantukoy_1 : This 20-item worksheet asks the student to write the correct Filipino article that will complete the sentence.
