Listahan ng mga Karaniwang Salita

Below is a PDF file that lists 150 common Filipino words that would be most frequently encountered by learners reading Filipino reading materials. The words are presented in 15 lists (10 words per list) and ranked by frequency. It was loosely based on the Dolch Sight Words and Fry Sight Words for English words. I have removed the common nouns and color words that were included in those lists to be able to add the more frequently used Filipino words. Though I tried to keep related Filipino words together, I had to consider the frequency of certain words. So words that you think are related (Filipino pronouns, for example) are not all listed in the same list. Each page has 3 lists and each list has 10 words. You can cut the page along the dashed lines to have 3 lists. You also need to cut off both left and…

Mga Pinakakaraniwang Salita sa Filipino

I was working on a new series for beginning readers of Filipino when I got the idea of making a list of common Filipino words. I did a quick internet search and found some sites which showed several lists of Filipino sight words as well as common Filipino words. The result of my search is the 4-page PDF file below with a list of more than 800 common Filipino words, including Filipino sight words, which I've compiled. The words are arranged according to the number of letters in the word. For each group, the words are arranged alphabetically (according to the Filipino alphabet). The words are not arranged according to the parts of speech. Words with two or more syllables are syllabicated and the syllabicated words are in parentheses. See the image of the first page below. Teachers and parents can use this list as a basis for making vocabulary…

Mga Karaniwang Salita sa Filipino (Part 1)

If you have a preschooler or teach preschoolers, you may have heard of the term "sight words." Sight words refer to the set of words most frequently used and repeated. Sight words are important in teaching children to read. Children have to learn to quickly recognize and read them on sight. The list of sight words in English can easily be found and downloaded from the Internet. I wanted to make a similar list of Filipino sight words. I started with the commonly used short words (1 to 3-letter Filipino words) and included their variants. I also listed the common Filipino pronouns (panghalip) and their variants. Then the common Filipino adverbs (pang-abay) and conjunctions (pangatnig) came next. Click on the link below to open the pdf file. Mga Karaniwang Salita_1 : A 7-page pdf file with common Filipino words including Filipino pronouns, adverbs, and conjunctions. I also made a list…
