Colored Periodic Table of Elements Clip Art Set (U.S. $4.00)

Colored Periodic Table of Elements Clip Art Set | 139 images | $4.00

Description: This clip art set includes 139 unique colored images. These images are PNG files. Each element clip art is made of a colored square that includes the element’s atomic number, chemical symbol, element name, and updated atomic weight rounded to three decimal places. The squares are colored according to the element families. Numbers in parentheses in atomic weight values indicate uncertainty for that last digit.

This product includes the following folders and their contents:

1. Alphabetical Order folder: This folder has the 119 colored PNG element clip art files arranged in alphabetical order. It includes both aluminum and aluminium. Aluminium is the 119th clip art.

2. Atomic Number folder: Inside this folder are 6 folders that have the 119 colored element clip art files arranged by atomic number (i.e., 1-20, 21-40, 41-60, 61-80, 81-100, and 101-118).

3. Element Families folder: Includes colored PNG clip art files for the following families: actinides, alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, all transition metals, basic metals with aluminum, basic metals with aluminium, early transition metals, halogens, lanthanides, late transition elements, metalloids, noble gases, and nonmetals. Each family has a clip art showing the elements that belong to that family, except for Hydrogen since it is placed separately from the other nonmetals.

4. Element Groups folder: Includes colored PNG clip art files for the following groups: boron group with aluminum, boron group with aluminium, carbon group, nitrogen group, and the oxygen group. Each group folder has a clip art showing the all the elements that belong to that group.

5. Periodic Tables folder: Includes two colored PNG periodic table clip art files (no group or period numbers, just the element tiles), one with aluminum and one with aluminium.

Huge List of Ions (U.S. $12.00)

Huge List of Ions | 67 pages | $12.00

Description: This huge list of ions is far from being complete, but it contains the most common ions used in basic chemistry courses. This product is comprised of three PDF files where 382 ions are grouped into the following ten categories:

1. Monoatomic Cations (147 cations)

2. Homopolyatomic Cations (9 cations)

3. Heteropolyatomic Cations with Hydrogen (17 cations)

4. Heteropolyatomic Cations with Oxygen (18 cations)

5. Monoatomic Anions (20 anions)

6. Homopolyatomic Anions (16 anions)

7. Heteropolyatomic Anions Derived from Oxoacids (85 anions)

8. Heteropolyatomic Anions Derived from Inorganic Acids (21 anions)

9. Heteropolyatomic Anions Derived from Organic Acids (40 anions)

10. Other Heteropolyatomic Anions (9 anions)

This product is comprised of three printable PDF files described below. The PDF files are secured, so copying or editing the text is not allowed. Each PDF file is designed to be printed on letter-sized paper (8.5” x 11”).

Each PDF file provides the chemical formula, common name, and IUPAC name of each ion.

1. In the PDF file Ions Alphabetized by Common Names (18 pages), the ions in each category are alphabetically arranged according to their common names.

2. In the PDF file Ions Alphabetized by Formula (18 pages), the ions in each category are alphabetically arranged according to their formulas.

3. The PDF file Guide to the Lists of Ions (31 pages) was written for teachers. It provides detailed information about the ions in each category. It provides the definitions of the categories, how the ion formulas are written, the compounds from which many anions are derived, alternate formulas of heteropolyatomic anions, and some explanation on the IUPAC names. In this guide, the following are included: the Latin names of several monoatomic cations, the parent hydrides of heteropolyatomic cations, the oxoxacids from which oxoanions are derived, and the inorganic acids and organic acids from which heteropolyatomic anions are derived.

TIP: Use the FIND tool of the Adobe Acrobat Reader program to find a particular ion.

IMPORTANT: This product only provides the lists of ions and their common names and IUPAC names. There is no instruction on how to use these lists to name ionic compounds or write chemical formulas of ions. This product is the resource students need to do these particular activities.
